GlogsterThis website allows you to create a collage or information and pictures. It is easy to use and easy to be creative with. Not only that, but it can be used in a wide variety of types of instruction. Feldman and Kinsella (2005) and Short and Echevarrie (2016) talk about the importance of teaching vocabulary, and Zwiers and Crawford (2011) talk about the importance of explicitly teaching grammar. Both of these topics and many others could be well addressed with the use of this source. Glogster could be a fun way to present information to the class, but also, if a teacher doesn't have good art skills or good penmanship, this could be a website that they use to make anchor charts. Teachers can easily pull this website up and display it on a screen and go through the same process of creating an anchor chart, just putting information on glogster instead of a poster. Students could help decide which images to include and where on the page they should be placed to make sense, it could be a really fun and engaging activity while simultaneously allowing the teacher to have a nice looking anchor chart that their students will be able to use. Teachers could then print a copy of the anchor chart for all of their students.

SlideDogSlideDog is a free online presentation software that combines PowerPoint, PDF files, Prezi presentations, movie clips, and webpages into one presentation. This can be extremely useful for teachers who have a variety of sources about a particular topic and want to combine them into one presentation. A presentation like this also has the potential to greatly assist ELL students because it allows them to find all of their information in one place without being tied down to one form of representation. Students can look at audio, visual, textual, even interactive material all in one place, giving them a solid foundation for learning. The flexibility of this presentation software also allows for bilingual presentation because teachers could draw from different sources and forms of representing information. Celic and Seltzer(2011) discuss the importance of translanguaging. They comment that “The most important language practice of bilinguals now and especially in the future is their ability to use language fluidly, to translanguage in order to make meaning beyond one or two languages” (Celic and Seltzer 2011). This source provides teachers with the means to allow ELL students to learn in both languages so they have a better chance at success.

PoppletPopplet is a website that allows you to create flow charts. This is a great source for ELD teachers because of how visual it is for ELL students. This source can specifically help teachers with lessons in grammar and syntax. Teachers can display sentence connections and form through the connections of the flow chart. If students were to make their own, it would give the teacher an idea of how much they understand in regards to sentence structure. De Oliveira and Schleppegrell (2015) highlight the necessity of teaching grammar and meaning both in the context of L1 and L2. With Popplet, teachers would be able to help their students visualize the differences in grammar between their languages, allowing them to better internalize their learning.
